CAPTAIN'S BACKGROUND

 

Captain Morin joined Delta Air Lines in 1968 after serving his country as a helicopter pilot in the US Marine Corps. Over his 32 year career he was responsible for the safe operation of both domestic and international flights, in a variety of aircraft including DC9s, 727s, and 767s. Early in his tenure as a Delta captain, he was afforded the opportunity to perform "line operation training" for active pilots, ensuring their conformance to FAA and company procedures. In the several years that he performed in this role, he was responsible for training over 250 pilots. Captain Morin retired from Delta Airlines in 2000.
 
Captain Morin began boating at age 12 on Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay. Over the past five decades, he has owned or operated, both power and sail boats, up to 150’ in length, and has extensive experience navigating the New England coastline.
  

Captain Morin holds a United States Coast Guard Merchant Marine Officer License endorsed for operating 100 gross ton vessels out to 200 nautical miles. He is a member of the: Newport Alliance (a Department of Transportation random drug testing program); National Association of Charter Boat Operators (NACO); Northeast Charter Boat Captains Association, Inc. (NCCA). Captain Morin has been certified as a classroom instructor through the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA).   Certified  powerboat handling instructor through  US/SAIL & it's affiliate, US/ POWERBOAT.  Massachusetts Environmental Police certified classroom instructor instructing the MA Boating Course.
