Captain Morin was commissioned a Marine Corps Officer upon completion of his college studies in 1963. He successfully completed a course of study at the Naval Flight Training Command - Pensacola, Florida in May 1965. Designated a Naval Aviator, he went on to fly a combat tour in Viet Nam in 1966 - 1967.
Upon completing his active Marine Corps service in 1968, he joined Delta Air Lines as a Flight Officer. During a 32 year career he was responsible for the safe operation of both domestic and international flights. Capt. Ron retired in 2000 as an International Captain.
Early in his tenure as a Delta captain, he was afforded the opportunity to perform line-operation-training for active pilots; ensuring their conformance to FAA and company procedures. In the several years that he performed in this role; he was responsible for training over 200 pilots. Captain Morin retired from Delta Airlines in 2000.
In 2003, Capt. Ron established a " Power Boat Handling School". Offering instructional assistance to boating familes aboard their personal watercraft. Boat control and safety are the primary goals stressed throughout the course of instruction.
Captain Morin holds a United States Coast Guard Master's License designated to operate vessels up to 100 tons out to 200 nautical miles.
- Certified classroom instructor through the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA).
- Certified powerboat-handling-instructor through US/SAIL & it's affiliate, US/ POWERBOAT.
- Trained in the Chapman School of Seamanship (Large-Boat-Handling Program.)
- Massachusetts Environmental Police certified classroom instructor.
- Since the establishment of Capt. Ron's Nautical Services; over 300 students have benefited from his powerboat-handling-instruction.
